It doesn't take an explorer to seek out the Safari Room amid the exotic zebra-print furniture and carved elephant busts of the Davenport Tower lobby. The frequent hum of activity, the sparkle of laughter and conversation not to mention the incredibly affordable lunch and dinner specials draw scores of guests. A stuffed tiger prowls the full-sized bar, where ten beers are on tap. But the Safari Room truly shines when it comes to specialty mixed drinks. Seduced by such style and conviviality, the lively crowd that arrives for happy hour often stays on until the wee hours. The Safari Room occupies a special place in Walt Worthy's heart. It's here that the Davenport owner has introduced all the classic Southern fare from his youth in Georgia: dishes like homestyle grits, authentic gumbo, savory smoked barbecue, fried okra, and oven-fired flatbreads sprinkled with tantalizing toppings. Yet the menu is broad enough to satisfy all palettes, whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
Please note: Spokane Restaurant Week menus are for dine-in customers only.
